We recently had new carpet put in our home. In order to do that we had to move all our furniture. While moving our old tv stand my husband broke it. I did not want to spend a lot on an entertainment center so we checked at Wal-Mart and K-mart. K-Mart had the best deal. We bought this tv stand as well as two towers to sit on each side. I am happy with the finished product of this stand but putting it together was a nightmare. Not to mention the first box of this furniture had to be taken back because it had a broken piece in it. It took me and my husband over 2 hours to put this together. Also I have never put together a tv stand that included wood pegs (dowels, is what the instructions called them) and wood glue. There are screws to tighten up later but at first you use nothing but the pegs and glue. Oh and the instructions do not say make sure that the pegs are pushed in pretty far before you try to attach the pieces because they will push through the other side of the furniture. The simple truth is that this is cheap and hard to put together. I have put together quite a few pieces of furniture but this was by far the hardest I have ever assembled. Now that it is up it looks nice but I am not sure how long it will hold. Also why can't K-mart and Wal-Mart offer a section of their store where you could pay someone to put the pieces together for you? I would consider that money well spent. I say shop around before you buy this piece.
