Altec Lansing Acs33 By Yangmun Choi on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

The Altec Lansing Multimedia Computer Speaker System ACS33 is a good entry level speaker set. The 2.1 set designs in general are not desinged for top notch audiophilic activities, but this speaker set is able to deliver clean, powerful sound.

The volume knob is located on the right satellite speaker, and the sub is connected through a thicker, model-specific cable. The sub is made of wood, and the satellites are composed of plastic.

The satellites are decently small, although they are not as small as the 2.1 speaker sets that are out nowadays (2007). The overall sound from the satellites are very crisp and pretty well defined.

The weakness of this system is in the sub. The sub has a pretty low power output threshold before it becomes muddled. Also, the bass in general is loud, but not as punchy as desired.

The Altec Lansing ACS33 are good entry level speakers, and definitely a nice upgrade from those crappy stock speakers that came with your machine.
