When we brought our baby home from the hospital, we had him sleeping in a bassinet that attached to the bed. He would NOT sleep in this bassinet and cried constantly. After doing some more research, I realized that newborns have the need to be cradled and rocked. The Amby Baby Motion Hammock was recommended by Dr. Sears, a very respected pediatrician. It is recommended because it mimics that womb, and is precisely what a newborn needs. The bed consists of metal bars that suspend the hammock in the air using a spring that supports weight up to 25 pounds. When the baby wakes up to fuss, the hammock gently sways and bounces him back to sleep! We love our Amby Baby and highly recommend every new parent pick one up! Our baby slept so well, that I had to wake HIM for night feedings instead of the other way around. Our favorite baby product by far.
