Amd 4400 Dual Core By omegapandor on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The AMD 4400+ is one of the better budget processors on the market. I am using stock cooling, and I have it overclocked from 2.1ghz to 2.7ghz. With a better cooler, I could probably push it to 3.2, but I cannot verify that right now. I have had it up to 2.9ghz before on stock cooling, but I turned it down in favor of better voltages. The processor works great with DDR2 800 memory.

Since it's fast and dual-core, games run great. I play things like Unreal Tournament 3, Crysis, Supreme Commander, and Call of Duty 4 at 60 fps.

The only downside to this processor is that is isn't quite as overclockable as its slightly more expensive intel counterparts. You should not pay more than $50 for this processor these days, but it's still a good deal.

good job. I know that this AMD works better and cheaper but the real problem is on the heat. AMD get heat very easy and faster rather than Intel. But by using the cooler I think it's fine. mm..just thinking to find a splendid laptop cooler. :)

Yes, I definitely recommend a custom cooler for serious overclocking on this one.
