I bought my pleated window shades for my living room at AmericanBlinds.com They sell other well known- brands of window treatments, but I saved a little money by buying their brand of shades.
The shades are made of heavy-duty woven material and have a decorative thread design throughout the shade. They were very easy to install with a bracket that is installed on the wall above the window or can be installed on the window molding. The shade header is snapped into the bracket and secured with a screw. It took me less than a half hour to put up three shades.
These give excellent privacy while still letting in light if they are closed during the day. They are raised or lowered with a cord that you can request to be on either the right or left of the blind when you order them. I was able to order just the right size for my window and didn't have a long wait time to receive them.
I have had these blinds for over 5 years and they have held up pretty good, except for the cord on 2 of them broke recently, but I was able to find some cording at the fabric store and replaced them without too much trouble. They have been very easy to clean by using the brush attachment on my sweeper.
I have been very pleased with the American Blinds brand, and plan on buying from them again in the future.

These look really nice. Blinds are a MUST for my house. I can't stand when a window is uncovered. I hate the regular shades and would love to go to something like this. I think it makes the room look so much nicer.
Our blinds really need replacing. I'll be looking at American Blinds when we are ready for new ones.
We are planning on replacing blinds all over our house soon...i will have to check out this website to see what they have that will work for us.
The pleated shades in your photo are very beautiful. I can see how shades that let a soft glow of light through would work very well in the dining room or other areas of the home where one wouldn't want to completely block sunlight.
too many times to count I've visited the American Blinds site, and still hesitated to buy anything. But because I value your judgement, I definitely will give them a try.
