This DVD movie stars Richard Gere as Julian Kay. It co-stars Lauren Hutton. This is a Paramount Picture Presentation in color and is 116 minutes in length. Julian Kay is the ultimate youthful and well built man oozing charm and sex for sale. He speaks five or six languages and knows how to please a woman. He has been a chauffeur and a companion to wealthy middle aged lonely women who are paying clients. Julian keeps busy being a temporary lover to married women as well. Things become a little complicated when one of his clients is murdered and he becomes the main suspect. This movie has an interesting turn of events. There is a good deal of intrigue and suspense that held my attention. I feel that Richard Gere gave a very good performance in portraying Julian Kay. As an actor, Richard Gere simply exudes sexuality as a true american gigolo. I did feel however that his total nude scene was not really necessary because that scene speaks for itself. I remember that this movie," American Gigolo" was quite popular when it first came out in 1980 and was well received. The sound quality of this DVD was impressive and the color quality was clear and sharp.
