Anderson 4000 Storm Door
By Mary60 on - Updated Sep 18, 2011In need of a new storm door, I went looking at Home Depot. There i found this Anderson Door, which took about an hour to install. We did have some help from a professional, too.
The door is a clear view door and comes with an insect screen. If you want to change to the screen all you have to do isrelease the safety button (upward) androtate the handle to the vertical position. So easy to remove the window and put in the screen. The hardware is contemporary style with a nickel finish (also have brass),and a flip away handle. Akeyed deadbolt, makes this a plus feature for this door, along with the two layers of weatherstripping. A feature of the door is the push button closure, which keeps the door open with a quick tap of your toe.
I really like this door so far ,and will update later.
Update On Apr 30, 2010: Well the wind caught the door and broke the adjustment to keep it open.I had to go to Lowes to get a white adjuster, couldn't find white anywhere else.

I like the idea of the keyed deadbolt. And though it's been many years since I shopped for a screen door, the price seems reasonable to me. Good review.
it looks great door.
I used to install windows and doors for a living... Anderson is by far what people ask for when they are asking for quality... I highly recommend all Anderson products...
