Android And The G1 By Don2 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The G1 itself is nothing special to look at. It's big and bulky. The phone software is error free. Besides the battery life, the android software is smile and easy to use. The ability to add applications makes the functionality of this phone quite versatile.

For first generation this phone destroys the competition. The applications that you can download and install on this phone are quite numerous. One stands out T-Mobile hotspot. This app allows you to connect to any T-Mobile hotspot via Wi-Fi free of charge. There are also apps that allow you to connect to torrent programs, and of course edit documents.

The full keyboard is revealed underneath the slide out screen. The keyboard has a nice feel, not overly sensitive. Another plus is on the bottom of the phone are the traditional send and end buttons. Phones that lack this feature take longer to adapt to for the beginning user.

The phones user interface is streamlined and passed my mom test. I switched phones with my mom for the day and she was able to use it without major problems. She purchased a Blackberry however she was forced to return it when she was unable to use it.

Pros: Full QWERTY keyboard, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, numerous applications, ease of use.

Cons: Battery life, and Size.

After customization the G1 is greatest phone I have used to date. The G1 gets a recommendation to basic used to those looking for a mobile office.
