When my sister was expecting her first child, she went out and bought a bunch of baby books. The Baby Name Countdown by Janet Schwegel- Fifth Edition was one of them. This book is one of the better baby name books out there.

This book offers 100,000 baby names from A to Z. The book provides the one hundred most popular names and rest of the book is every other name there is out in the world. When it comes to the one hundred most popular names, this books gives you each name from each century and lists them by popularirity. For example, Marrywas number on the 1900's but as the years came in drop to number 41 in 1990. To me this is fasinating information because I want to have children in the very near future and I like to know what was popular.

As for the rest of the names, the book basically gives you the meaning and theorigin of each name. If you are looking for different baby name books, then this is one of them that you sould purchase.
