Ape Escape 3 For Playstation 2 By PC200X on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Ape Escape series is back, and better than ever! Once again, the evil monkey Specter has escaped from the monkey park, and this time, he's after TV. Yes, with the help of the Freaky Monkey Five and his satellites, the world's television-watching population has been reduced to mindless vegetables. Even former heroes Spike and Jimmy have been affected. Now, it's up to two kids, Kei and Yumi, to go out, capture the monkeys, and show Specter who's boss.

Sure, the game sounds just like the previous two, and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't. The game plays exactly the same as Ape Escapes 1 and 2, but as the old saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." The gameplay is great as always, with a few new touches. Now, you can transform into different characters, from ninjas to futuristic robot-esque warriors, each with their own sets of moves and abilities. In addition, you can also choose to play as either a boy or a girl, not that there's any significant difference between them.

Sounds are great as always. The composer of the original game is back with some more high energy techno tunes, and the voices once again are superb. Chances are you'll hear some familiar voices, from Debby Derryberry to Charlie Schlatter's brilliant yet unique take on Specter.

You're in for more of the same when you pick up this game, but considering the great quality previous installments have had, you can't ask for much better than this.
