Appalachian Ski Mountain
By Patrick onAppalachian Ski Mountain is one of the oldest ski resorts in North Carolina, and for a long time was a private resort. However, it is now public and they have fairly reasonable lift ticket rates.Honestly, though, unless you are a beginner skier I would not recommend this resort at all. There are only a handful of runs, none of which are very long, and it tends to get old fast. However, there is one huge saving grace for this mountain, its snowboard terrain parks.Even with only seven or eight runs, they have made two of them terrain parks. Not only do they have these parks, but the upkeep on them is amazing. They have a crew that is always grooming, cleaning up the jumps, and setting up different rails.I can't really recommend this resort for any serious skiing, but for beginners and freestyle snowboarders, its just the ticket.

i have been there!!! It was really pretty and I remember that the staff was very nice and helpful (considering I sucked at skiing...lol) It was a memorable experience for me and my family!
I have never been to this area but would love to check it out one day. I would definitely be a beginner skiier as I haven't gone skiing in years! Thank you for the information.
It's not a bad place to ski if you aren't really into it :0)
Thanks for the information on this. I have never heard of this place but we are not far from NC. I have never went skiing before but I might someday, who knows!
