Aqua Globes
By Rae777 onIf you've ever tried to keep plants in your house and you don't have a green thumb you know how difficult it can be to keep plants alive. The problem is that I always either over water them or under water them and even an amateur gardener knows either of these two results will end in the plant dying.
One way to solve this problem is to buy Aqua Globes. These are glass containers that are round at the bottom and have long stems. They are a pretty blue color and decorative although they are now available on the Internet in red and green.
You insert these into a plant and it waters the plant only as necessary. Depending on the size of the pot and plant these are supposed to last up to two weeks without refilling. It seems most times they last about a week for us.
Before we bought these I was aware that people either loved these or they hated them. Just read the instructions and follow them. It sometimes helps to take a wooden spoon and make a hole in the dirt first and then insert the tubes so that the hole in the Aqua Globe does not plug up with dirt.
Aqua Globes are great if you need to be away for a few days or on vacation for a week or if you just want to take the guess work out of whether a plant needs to be watered or not.
These have been available in a set of two for about 9.99 but if you look around especially online sometimes these can be found four to a set for 12 to 14 dollars.

I've often wondered how fragile these are. If in fact the stems would eventually snap, if pot soils got too heavy or compacted.
Every year my mom gives me a plant to kill knowing I don't have a green thumb, i'll have to invest in these.
I so need one of these - no make that about a dozen! I'm pretty good with watering but when I do forget - boy, I can really make a mess of once healthy plants! Great idea - thanks for the info
I always wondered if these worked! Thanks!
