Armageddon DVD

Though this movie is now pretty old, I don't think many movies have come along to top this awesome story. It should go down in the movie industry as a "classic" of the time. This movie is "Armageddon."The cast is full of big-named stars including Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Billy Bob Thornton, Liv Tyler, steve Buscemi and Will Patton.A giant meteor (think the size of Texas) is heading towards Earth and the only hope we have is a a team of rougheck oil drillers.They must go into space and break up the meteor.They are definitly not what NASA is used to, but our fate is in their hands.

I personally think this is truly one of the best all time movies. The first time I watched this movie the emotions (particulary those between Willis and Tyler who play father and daugther) brought tears to my eyes that I openly let fall.Still now, almost 10 years later, I still find myself tearing up everytime I see this movie. I'm also amazed at how many people have not taken the time to watch it. I frequently pull it out for guests who are trying to decide on a movie to watch when they come over to visit.This movie has a wonderful combination of happy and sad that truly keeps me engrossed in it every time I see it.

It is rated PG-13, and won Best Original Screenplay in 1997 and Best Adapted Screenplay in 1996.
