Armor All Protectant Wipes are designed to protect the various surfaces in your car from general wear as well as the effect of the sun & heat. They also leave a nice new shine on surfaces.

To use the wipes the surfaces must be clean of dust and dirt first, which makes sense but adds another step. It'd be nice if the wipes cleaned as well as protected, but Armor All has a separate product for cleaning. It takes little time to go over most of the dash and door areas, and althought he smell isn't exactly pleasant, it doesn't assault your nose.

Armor All recommends not using the Protectant Wipes on the steering wheel, and for good reason -- surfaces are very slick long after the product has dried. If you do use this on your steering wheel, try to get a wheel cover so that you have better grip on your wheel when you decide to drive in the days following the use of the Protectant Wipes.

The container fits in the glove box, under a seat, or in the trunk, but the lid doesn't stay fastly tightened, so don't put heavy objects on top of the can or the top will open and the wipes will dry out.

Though I haven't done any laboratory testing or anything, I've not noticed any cracking in surfaces while I've been regularly using this product.
