Art And History Of Assisi By Mary on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
This is the English Edition of the paperback book entitled, "Art And History of Assisi". It contains 125 pages that are filled with stunning photographs and paintings of the town of Assisi. The text of this book is written by Brother Nicola Giandomenico and the photos are by Brother Gerhard Ruf. This beautiful and enchanting town of Assisi is packed with much religious appeal and history. The ancient city of Assisi dates back to pre-Roman days with it's archaeological remains a prime tourist attraction. Most people associate the town of Assisi with St. Francis. There is no other place where the spirituality of St. Francis is so felt by tourists. There are several colorful and impressive photographs of Basilicas. The interia of the Basilicas is an architectural masterpiece. The town of Assisi is definately a very blessed place and it draws thousands of visitors every year. I have visited Italy several years ago but I have never had the pleasure and privilege of seeing this holy place. I wasn't in that vicinity and I truly regret having missed the opportunity. This book however, makes the sights very real to me and will have to suffice for the time being.
