Art Appreciation For Baby By JennEm on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Dancing with Degas is part of the Mini-Masters series of board books. This is a beautiful book and is very well put together.

Dancing with Degas is filled with the beautiful artwork of Degas' ballerinas. The words tell a little story about ballerinas putting on a performace. The words describe the picture and really add something to the book without overwhelming the artwork itself.

My daughter loves the book. She points to the ballerinas and says "pretty". I like it very much too. I think it is lovely. I also like the idea of introducing my daughter to art and to the great artists of the world even at this young age. Who knows how much toddlers take in? This could be working itself into her subconscious.

Maybe one day memories of this book will inspire her to dance or to show an interest in art. At the very least she will be able to identify some famous artwork, and that's worth something in itself.
