By Alice onWhenever anyone in our family purchases a new car we go to the Latvian Heritage Federal Credit Union for our loans.This is a small savings and loan credit union started in the 1950's for the Latvian community that settled in and around Western Michigan.We have been dealing with them for over 35 years.This credit union is only open 2 nights a week but they will gladly come in on an appointment basis to help you with your needs.
Last month my daughter purchased a new Lancer for her move to Florida this month.She found the car she wanted, gave the credit union a call on what she could afford and had her check in hand the following evening.The current interest rate at the credit union for new cars is 4.9% and they are very competitive on matching any type of loan rates to the banks and car dealers in our area.I purchased my used Lexus SUV earlier this year and got the same great service at a competitive used car interest rate.
The reason we will continue to use this credit union for our car loans is the people that work there.They are friendly, there are never any waiting lines like the bank, and they really care about you as a person.You're not a forgotten number once your car loan is processed.
