Aveda Elixir Leave On Conditioner By TroyPankey on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
All Aveda products are top-notch, and this one isn't any different in that regard. Aveda's elixir leave-on conditioner is different than any other hair conditioner I've used in the past.
Firstly, it's a "leave-on" conditioner. Usually, all other conditioner's instructions tell you to leave in for a minute or two, and then rinse out. But, again, this one you're to leave in after showering. That in itself took me awhile to adjust to.
Good thing I did adjust, because the product delivers on what it says it is going to do for your hair. Additionally, you only have to use about a dime-size amount of conditioner whenever you need to use it. When I did use it, which hasn't been too often, not needing to repair my hair or moisturize it more than what the average person may need to, the product has always left my hair extra soft and without tangles, etc. In fact, whenever I did use it others seem to notice that "something was different with my hair," or that my "hair looked better for some reason that day." Almost without fail this was the case, and of course I'd always reply with, "yep, last night I put Aveda's elixir leave-on conditioner in my hair."
So, this product gets my recommendation for anyone who needs some extra moisturizing, detangling, and/or repairing of some sort for their hair.

What kind of consistency is this product- gel, liquid, lotion, etc.? I have rather thin hair, and I am afraid it will weigh my hair down too much. I have very dry hair in the winter, so this product sounds like something I might like. Thanks for sharing.
