In my search for an acceptable, eczema-friendly body wash for my daughter, I came across a relatively new product by Aveeno, Soothing Relief Creamy Wash. This product is specifically marketed for the relief of dryness for babies and toddlers with extremely dry skin and eczema.

As advertised, this baby wash is very creamy, with the consistency of lotion, and it is free of perfumes. As with most fragrance free products, it does have an odor, but it is not offensive or overpowering.

The lathering capabilities of this body wash are not as impressive as the smooth texture. It takes a good deal of water and work to create a sudsy lather. Once that lather is achieved, the body wash does do a good job of cleansing.

Since the lather is so creamy, it can take some extra effort to rinse it thoroughly. Once rinsed, the creamy body wash did seem to give my daughter with eczema some relief. We still use her heavy creams on her after bathing, but her skin was overall much less dry, and her post-bath itching was reduced by use of this body wash.

For eczema sufferers, the lotions, body washes and creams that provide relief can vary greatly from one person to the next. If you have an infant or toddler with eczema, however, this is one body wash that you should try.
