Aventura Spa Palace By cukal6 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I really have mixed reviews about the Aventura Spa Palace. There were a couple of things that I really liked about the resort.
First, the rooms were beautiful. We were in an ocean view room with a jacuzzi tub that looked out over the balcony. On the balcony was a hammock that we spent a lot of time in. It was nice to just sit there and listen to the ocean.
Second, you got a spa credit when you checked in. My husband and I both got massages in these little huts over the ocean. Those were amazing!
Third, you also got one tour included in the package. We got to visit some ruins and the nearby Xpu-Ha Palace resort. That was also a nice benefit.
Things I didn't like about the Spa Palace.
Everything was so spread out. It felt like you had to walk forever to get anywhere.
The food was good, but not great. At one of the restaurants there was an outdoor seating area that was nice until the mosquitos came. We all had to go inside and then spent the next few days scratching.
There were no organized activities. That may be great for some people, but I like the option.
So, I don't know if I would recommend this resort or not. It really is a beautiful place with some nice perks, but I don't know if they outweigh the bad.
This resort is located in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. About an hour south of Cancun. Beautiful area!!!

Good comments, but it would be nice to know where this is.
You had me at "ocean view room with a jacuzzi tub that looked out over the balcony"!
This place sounds really familiar but you do not mention where it is located. Is it in Mexico? What fun is an all inclusive resort if there are no activities? That is supposed to be part of the fun
I like that you pointed out the pros and cons. To me it sounds like the cons weren't all that bad and could be dealt with. Just think all the walking you had to do to get to places meant you could eat a little more on the food end! :o) The ruins trip that you took sounds very exciting and also the massages in the huts over the ocean. Where exactly is this located?
I don't think this sounds like a fun resort. I would like to have options on activities myself. I really was disappointed about the mosquitos....hate them!!!
Sounds like a place to go if you don't really want to have to do anything but lay in the sun or get a massage and relax. I think the ruins trip would be very interesting. Your room with the view sounds heavenly!
I hate bugs! That in itself would have completely ruined my trip. How horrible. Thanks for talking about the pros and cons of this spa. I love the idea of a spa but for me, the cons would kill that idea of this place.
The massage over the ocean and jacuzzi tub in the room make it for me, lots of walking wouldn't bother me, please update and let us know where exactly this place is located, thanks
