I hate boring books that make you feel depressed. Books like that seem to take forever to get through and then when you finally do finish them you wish you had never read them! The Giver is not one of those books. The Giver is a very interesting novel about a futuristic society. It is very unique and interesting. This book kept me interested all the way through it. It was also very surprising and unpredictable. Books that are predictable are pointless to read because it becomes boring and useless when you can guess every event. Lois Lowry is a wonderful author and this book can be enjoyed by people of nearly any age! This book really gets your imagination going. Living in a world like the one in The Giver would be very different and challenging. Especially after living the way we are used to. This novel is a must-read! It isn't too long or too short it's perfect! I would recommend it for anyone and everyone to read.
