Axis And Allies By Devo on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

Axis and Allies is the ultimate strategy board game. You basically reenact WWII on a table but with less war crimes. The game is similar to Risk but is much more complicated and much more awesome. Two to five players represent a different world power (America, Russia, and Brittain for the Allies and Germany and Japan for the Axis) and form two teams. These two teams strategize over how to beat the other team and overtake the world. The game begins in 1941, just before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, but it ends whenever one team wins (the rules to winning are complicated and can be found in the rule book). It follows history pretty well at the start of the game; Germany is the strongest in terms of sheer fighting power, America has the most money, and it sucks to be Russia. This game is not for the simple-minded, it takes concentration, skill, and a basic knowledge of military strategy. It also lasts about as long as WWII. I recomend playing Axis and Allies with the veterans of the family. Certain types of wine and beer also complement this game. Just keep all weapons and sharp objects away from the losing team.

sounds like it takes real commitment to sit down and play this one~ it could be fun, though, I'm sure.
