Baby Bear's Big Dreams Children's Book By Micah Scott on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Baby Bear's Big Dreams, written by Jane Yolen and illustrated by Melissa Sweet, is a wonderful book to share with your child. The patterned rhyme scheme makes it very easy to read and kept my young son's attention beginning to end. The book is oversized and the large colorful illustrations are so well done that even after reading my son goes back and enjoys just looking over the pictures again and again.
The story itself is about how Baby Bear sees himself growing up and the adventures he will have. As Baby Bear talks about all the things that big bears do it quickly made me aware of how fast our kids grow and how important it is for me to truly enjoy him being young. In the end, Baby Bear returns home after all of his bear adventures to be tucked into bed by his parents. It was a nice reminder that no matter how big or old my son gets, he will always be my little boy.
Baby Bear's Big Dreams is a great book to read with your child and offers a nice message for the parent as well. A new copy from Barnes and Nobles is listed at $16.00, perhaps more than one would like to spend on a single book. We were able to find a copy at Half Price Books and also at our public library. If you have the chance to find one, both you and your child will love it.

This would be good in a Kindergarten class room. They love books that have a rhythm to them or rhyme
Ps I forgot to mention that I really like this book my kids had it when they were little now I am saving it for grandkids some day!!!
The greatest gift a father can give his child, especially his sons, is that love and assurance that they will always be your little boy. I think it is wonderful that you recognize that childhood passes so very quickly and now is the time to enjoy your son. You both will be stronger, more loving people for having done this. Thank you.
I love children's books, in fact I have kept my kids even though they are teenagers! This one sounds great!
This sounds like a really cute and sweet book. From the cover photo you have provided the illustrations look entertaining as well.
Awesome that you read to your son! All part of why he will come home to be "tucked in" even when he's older.
I love big books. I thought I had seen every children's book ever, or that's what it seems after two. My two are older now, but I have a little nephew who would love this book and others out there, thanks for your information
