Baby Loves Songs On Baby Counting Pal By bellastella227 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Baby Counting Pal by LeapFrog is a great toy for toddlers. It is cute and soft and resembles a caterpillar. It makes noise both by manipulating the "feet" that hang off it (rattle, squeaky, crinkle, etc.) and by pressing the numbers on the body.

There are five numbers and there are three modes to the caterpillar: numbers, colors, and music. Each number has a song that corresponds to it for each mode. For example, pressing on the number on in number mode would sing a little song including the number 1 in it; pressing it in color mode, it will sing the color of the number in different musical styles (opera, country, reggae, etc.); in music mode, number 1 will play a classical piece (all recognizable melodies) and also announce the composer of the piece.

My daughter likes me to pull this out and play on it with her. For being a baby toy, the numbers are difficult to press. That would be my only criticism of the toy. Other than that, I think it is cute and I love the educational aspect. It has handy velcro so you can easily strap it to a car seat handle, stroller, or crib railing. Be careful once the child is a little stronger, as they will be able to pull the toy down onto them.
