Baby Orajel

Poor Zoe is so close to cutting that first little tooth.There is the constant string of drool, and putting everything in her mouth to try and chomp away the itchy pain of teething.Most days so far have been alright for her.I can usually get her through the day with a teething biscut or teething ring.Now that her first tooth is for sure almost here the itchy pain is really kicking into in full gear.Now when I was getting advice some people told me they swear by orajel and some begged to differ.I decided to try it despite any nay sayers.I have found that Zoe loves the cherry flavor.I noticed that it does take away the pain for her, but it is only for a really short period of time.The question is then 'is it worth it?'I say yes.This pain relief,although temporary,is just what she needs to get her mind off of the nusance of teething.As her gums are feeling numb from the Baby orajel she starts going back to her normal baby behavior of playing with her toys and chasing the dog.I do notice her licking her gums a little after I rub the Baby orajel on, but I think she is just getting used to the numbness- kind of like when you get numbed at the dentist and then you spend the next few hours checking to see if you're drooling.I have found that I only need the Baby orajel about twice a day and some time I use the night time formula at bedtime if she seems to be in pain.I think it is a good product for short term teething agony for your baby.
