When I had my baby 18 months ago, I got a Diaper Genie because I had one with my first child. But recently, it wasn't hiding smells very well. Plus, last week it broke while I was trying to change the liner. I did a little research and found the Diaper Champ by Baby Trend. This one appealed to me because it looked very easy to use and it uses regular garbage bags rather than buying special bags. I've only used this for about a week, but I love it already. You can easily install the garbage bag following the instructions imprinted on the inside where you install the bag. We have used it for both types of diapers and it holds in the smell pretty well. The Diaper Champ has a lid that you put the diaper in, then you flip over the handle and the diaper drops into the pail. The sealed lid helps keep the smell in. It was really easy to change it. You just open the top, take out the regular garbage bag and throw it away. If you use cloth diapers, the Diaper Champ can also be good for you. Instead of throwing out the garbage bag, you just take the diapers to be cleaned. I think this has been a great buy for our family.
