My family loves smoothies, and I like making them for them as they are a healthy treat. It's a great alternative to soda or ice cream, but will generally satisfy our cravings for either one. I received this smoothie maker as a birthday present this year. I have gotten a lot of use out of it, especially over the summer months. My favorite smoothie to make is when I get fresh strawberries and throw in some bananas. This model is pretty stylish so I don't mind leaving it out on my counter. I like that it has a child safety feature where you can't operate it without the cover on, as I have a 5 year old that likes to help me. It seems to be plenty powerful. I have never had a problem with it blending ice or anything. I love the auto dispense button, very cool
