Baker's Edge: Edge Brownie Pan
By Mom2One onI received this as a gift from my mother. When I first saw it I thought to myself what was my mother thinking. It is a pan that looks like a maze.The reason behind it is so your brownies all have that chewy edge to them. You can use any recipe that requires a 13x9 baking pan in this pan.
I admit the pan sat in my cabinet for a while. One day I decided to see just how this thing worked. I made a batch of standard brownies. The brownies baked evenly and they were nice and chewy, every one of them. My whole family loved the brownies that came out of this pan.
Since then I have tried different cookie bar recipes and my famous cherry fudge brownies. I think everything bakes better in this pan. With a standard pan sometimes you can get hard edges that you have to cut around, you will not have that problem with this pan! I do not use my regular baking pan anymore to make brownies or cookie bars.
I have been thinking of trying a cake recipe using this pan. I haven't yet, but I bet it will be good.
I did try my vegetable lasagna in this pan and it turned out great. Again it was evenly baked and no hard, crusty edges.
This pan is very sturdy and very easy to clean. I love the quality of the pan.
Another nice feature is it comes with a little spatula. It is the perfect size to get through the channels of the pan.
I really love my pan, it maybe be funny looking but it really works! I have been hinting to my mother that I would like another one of these for Christmas.
Sounds like something I need to get! How much do they cost?
They are a little pricey compared to other baking pans. I believe they run around $33-$35. It is worth it though. I love this pan alot

Wow, what a great gadget! I had never heard of these, so I did a google search. This pan looks like a really fun item to add to my kitchen. I could cook some fantastic brownies with this. Thanks for the information!

I like that you have been able to use the pan for more than just brownies. I hope you will share the cake baking experiment with us too. I did not know that the pan came with a little spatula and I imagine with all the corners that is very handy.
The edge of a brownie every single time is a dream come true. i have to go out and buy this pan!
I am having a little bit of a hard time picturing the pan... but I am thinking that it has lots of crevices which might make it harder to clean... but it sounds like you use it often so maybe I am envisioning it wrong... Is it like a maze that runs through the bottom of the pan?
I need to go and buy these I hate when my brownies are hard on the sides.
