Reviewing: Banalg Muscle Pain Reliever
Purchased at: Drugstore.Com     Price: $5.49 USD

My husband has had a lifelong history of his legs cramping for no apparent reason so I had him incorporate taking vitamin E daily as well as rubbing the muscle pain reliever Banalg on his legs.

Banalg's active ingredients are:menthol at 1.0%, camphor at 2.0%, and methyl salicylate at 4.9%.

Banalg is not for the faint of heart as it has a very distinct odor but does it ever provide temporary relief! As soon as my husband feels a cramp ready to erupt, Irub Banalg on his legs and the pain magically disappears.

Although Banalg is a beautiful shade of green, the bottle states that it is a "fast vanishing lotion" and believe it or not, it is.I put a dime sized amount in my hands, let it emulsify and voila-the lotion is not green anymore therefore, this does not stain.

My husband also has back pains so when he has a long night ahead of him at work, I rub Banalg on his back.He works 10 hour shifts and comes home pain free with no stiffness or soreness.

Since using Banalg, my husband has not had any leg cramps and that gives me peace of mind.I (and my husband!) highly recommend this for temporary relief.

I'm off to the store to buy this product. My hubby gets terrible leg cramps in the middle of the night sometimes. I sure hope this helps despite the strong smell. Not drinking enough water and being on his feet all day at the restaurant doesn't help the situation either. I'm happy that it is working for your hubby.

Maybe I'll try this. I pulled a muscle yesterday, and the stuff we have in the house seems to be outdated (it did nothing at all)

I wish I had had this stuff when I pulled a muscle in my back not too long ago! Sounds like a good product to keep on hand just in case you need it.

This sounds like an interesting product! Thanks for the info. As an aside... low potassium intake can also cause or worsen leg pains. Bananas and tomatoes or tomato products have lots of potassium, as do many veggies. ;)

Sounds great. When I'm getting leg cramps or back pain, I really don't care what it smells like, as long as it works! And it sounds like this one does, really well. Good description on the good and bad points. And Bosoxy is right about the potassium! If bananas don't help (they're not enough for me) then if the leg cramps happen often, consider a potassium supplement; they're usually pretty inexpensive.
