Bang Olufsen Phone - It's Just a Phone

Ok, this was one of those purchase that you swear you must have been drunk when you bought this because no matter how hard you try you can't figure out why you did it. I did this with these phones. I was shopping at Somerset Mall in Troy and happen to wander into the Bang & Olufsen store. i had never even heard of this store but saw that it was all electronics..well that was enough for me.
Now if I had been of sound mind I would have turned around and walked away, but no..I had to keep looking. I saw these phones and fell in love with them. They just looked so cool and futuristic! Oh now that's a good reason to spend that kind of money! Anyway long story short the salesman knew he had a sucker and gave me the old song and dance about these phones. Keep in mind this is when a base and extra handsets were pretty new! Well before I knew what happen I was walking out the store with 3 new phones..yep I did it.
The phones..they work ok, range on them is no better than any other phone. Extra features, oh yeah if you happen to own one of their cd players it can control the volume of the cd player right from the phone! Yep and those only start at about $1200!
This is one of my stupid purchases in my life! Wish I could tell you they were worth every penny and make myself feel better but I can't. it's just a phone that looks cool!
Pardon me for saying so , but they don't really look all that cool either. Guess that is adding insult to injury,...sorry!
They do look cool....but WOW that price!! :o
LOL oh no!! Guess I know to keep the booze away from you before you go shopping next time! haha jk! :o) That is a crazy price for phones, but they do look kind of cool...I can see the attraction.
I agree - they do look cool! I'm another sucker for phones. There are three that I keep moving with me even though we don't have a land line anymore. I just can't part with them because they look cool. Maybe when I'm old I can sell them for lots of money as collector's items. LOL!
Don't feel bad. I am sure we all can remember that one purchase we should have just stayed away from. Thanks for sharing the honest, detailed information.
All I can say is thank God my dear departed husband never laid his tecchy eyes on these! Cause you would have had a partner in crime here. He loved Bang & Olufson products whether they worked well or not LOL!
Too funny! I think we all own a few of those "what was I thinking" items!
We've all made those kinds of purchases before... atleast, I have. This phone looks like the one they use on deal or no deal... lol. Sorry they didn't live up to your expectations.
OK, i can understand buying one, but 3??
