Bank of America is Bunch of Airheads
By reann onFrustrating is the best word to describe this bank. Confusing and misleading would be my second choice. This starts with initial account opening to their on-line banking websites and their personal credit cards. When I opened the account it was set up as where to deposit, withdrawal or transfer my funds would be with their ATM's or on-line banking only. If I were to use a teller for any of these, it would be a $3 teller-fee, each time. They waived it for the first year. It was not my primary bank so I forgot the time line.
I was also informed the debit card would only be allowed to withdraw $300 within a 24 hour. When I needed to withdraw $500 for a security deposit on an apartment, I went to the teller thinking to take it all out with her. She never informed me that I was being charged $3 which was taken from the checking portion into the savings account. The checking portion I never used so then I went negative on the account and got over-draft fees. Finding none of this out until I get the paper statement.
I go into the branch three different times to get it straightened out during which I would spend my time on-line and on the phone with customer service setting up on-line banking. I had applied for a credit card during that time and the website was not allowing me to add it to my accounts with BoA. The way the website was set up was I had have them make the accounts viewable together because I opened the checking in WA state and the credit card came out of AZ even though I reside in WA. Their servers did not work together as WA, OR and ID have separate on-line ID's.
Because of all of this, I closed my account. THEY CHARGED ME $3 "teller fee"!!! Spent three months arguing with that because you have to see a teller to close the accounts! Then, my credit card on-line banking stopped working because of closing the other accounts. Spent transfer after transfer on the phone to finally get a new ID set up for the credit card.
I will never do business with them again and warn as many people as I can about their banking.

Sorry you had such a negative experience with BofA. I have had accounts with them for years and have never had any problems. But it is annoying that they charge the $3.00 teller transaction fee. I just don't feel that a person should have to pay to use thier own bank.
YES, BANKS STINK PRETTY MUCH. I USE A CREDIT UNION. THEY USUALLY TAKE PRETTY GOOD CARE OF THEIR MEMBERS IF THEY ARE A DECENT CREDIT UNION. BANK OF AMERICA HAS DONE SOME PRETTY NASTY THINGS TO FOLKS FROM WHAT I HEAR. I WOULD NOT GO NEAR THEM EITHER. A WORD TO THE WISE IS SUFFICIENT. JOEY
The legend continues! This bank burned me 20yrs. ago. I have had a certain group of friends for that long and more. To a person, they have all tried and been mistreated or out and out wronged by this bank. They effectively allowed over $1,500 to be stolen out of my mothers savings account during her battle with cancer, as they were "watching" "untraceable account enquiries", they were so sorry my mom wasn't more vigilant, it is "after all ultimately up to the account holder to be carefull!" We didn't get rid of the "mob" back in the 30's, they just underwent a change in management. I wish you all the best. I've pretty good service from Wachovia, but they are about to become Wells Fargo, and who knows after that?!? Good Write!
