Barbie In The Nutcracker By sharon1 on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

Barbie in the Nutcracker is a interesting take on the classic ballet. Even though the movie did not exactly follow the ballet, it was very entertaining for my six year old daughter. She also loved the fact that Barbie was the star and that Barbie was also the Sugarplum Princess in the end. This movie is really great for young girls that is why I gave it such high stars. A few things I liked about the movie are the great dance scenes. These scenes were nicely animated to the orchestrated music. The different characters were a nice added touch to the movie. The characters brought a unique take on the ballet. Another is that the villain, the Mouse King, was not too scary for my daughter. Also, the fighting scenes were not too violent. I would recommend this movie for girls aged 2 through 9.

We just saw this for the first time a couple days ago. My daughter loves all of the barbie movies and I love the life lessons.
