As a new puppy owner, I bought the Bargain Hound Super Absorbent Puppy Pads on recommendation from the rescue's foster mom and a dog trainer at Petsmart. These things are saving my carpet! They really are super absorbent, much like a diaper. Our puppy had been kept in a playpen when inside at the foster mom's, and the playpen was lined with the pads. Now, we have them at strategic places around the house and she almost always uses them when inside (she's learning to go outside, too). Even after several uses of one pad, it doesn't leak onto my carpet and cleanup is so easy--just fold it over and take it out! The pads are treated with some sort of scent, so the house doesn't smell if we don't clean them up right away. Hopefully our puppy will be housetrained by the time we use all 56 pads, but if not we'll definitely buy them again.
