baseball helmet

My 6 year old started his first season of baseball this year.The coach insisted that they each have their own helmets so off we go to the store.I didn't really want to spend a lot because he'll probably outgrow it in a year, so this helmet from wal-mart was just perfect.It's 2-tone which means it's black on the bottom and a darker red on the top.The two colors kind of fade into each other in the middle.It's also got this really neat aerodynamic look to it which my son thinks is "cool".There's tons of padding inside soI"m happy.Plus it's got a chin strap to keep the thing from falling off when he's running.Of course he says he's not wearing the chin strap but I said we'll have to wait and see.It seems pretty snug on his head so he may not need it.Overall I think it's a pretty good helmet for the price and at least now I don't have to worry about head lice!
Helmets are so important for children playing certain sports! This one looks awesome:) That's half the battle in getting them to even wear one I think. And us women get acused of being picky about hats. Humph.
With helmets being so reasonably priced, I think it's great that each kid has their own helmet--and oh yeah, safety first!
Oh I never even thought about the head lice. I think this helmet is very cool looking and he should love wearing it. I laughed when you said he didn't want to wear the chin strap and you said you will see! Little boys have a mind of their own and to him it's probably not cool to wear it that way. We'll see who wins that battle! Great piece of equipment to keep the little ones safe while playing sports.
Believe me, having your own is MUCH better than sharing ill fitting team one :0) I had no idea they were this cheap...we got ours at a yard sale (with a bat, glove and bag for $5)
Good plan... for all the kids to have helmets. When they learn that everybody wears them for some sport it's not so dorky anymore. Nice looking helmet.
LOL, thats true. I can see why your son enjoys it. It does look very cool. Nice price for the helmet too.

My 6 year old has been talking about trying baseball. I was afraid the equiptment would cost a fortune. I feel better knowing I can get this at Walmart for under 20.00, thanks for the info.
I hear you about the lice. I worry about that too. This looks like a cool helmet. Hopefully your son will wear the chin strap :)
My husband paints helmets and I haven't seen one with a fade job like that. Looks like a really nice helmet.
