The Basin Harbor Club is one of those places located on beautiful Lake Champlain in Vermont. The history of this place goes back to the 1800's and how it came to modern day. When the owners" The Beach's", purchased this beautiful home they made it into one of the most visited places in Vermont. It now has numerous historical rooms and cute cottages. It offers family settings and the get away visits for adults too. Along with a 18 hole golf course, to biking , to boating, to restaurants, to the Maritime museum, there is nothing that you need here. The views are just gorgeous.

We wanted to go someplace not far, and took the grandchildren here. With a package deal we spent 2 days, of sure pleasure. The programs for the children were very fun and not a moment of complaining about this place. From the fun activities to the quiet times sitting on the chair overlooking the lake. They especially liked the Maritime museum which shows old history of the area, and a ship brought up from the bottom of Lake Champlain that was restored. The pool was nice as was the swims in the lake.

As adults we enjoyed the different choices of night activities, restaurant menus, cleaniness of the rooms and grounds. Of coarse the rooms were kind of old, but that was part of the mystic of the place. The staff was helpful both to our needs and those of the grand children. We had no pets, but they are welcome if behaved. The price is a little high, but you get so much in the package, but you have to book early for they are very busy in the summer and close in mid October.
