Reviewing: Bbq Grillware Heavy Duty Grill Cover
Purchased at: Lowe's     Price: $24.97 USD

We purchased the BBQ Grillware Heavy Duty Grill Cover from Lowe's the same day we purchased our grill from them. Our back deck has no cover over it and we knew our grill would be out there exposed to the elements and direct sun every day. Since this grill was brand new, we decided to start it off right with as much protection as possible.

This cover is pretty basic in it's design. It is made of a heavy duty black vinyl and slides over the top of the grill when it is not in use for protection. This cover is oversized so it is easy to slide on and off with out a struggle. It has ties on the side to give it a more snug fit for long term storage but here in Georgia we use our grill trough out the year so I don't bother with those. At first we thought it was too short since it does not go all the way to the ground. We then decided that was probably a good thing since it did not allow water to pool up at the base and make a mess.

In the past we had always gone for cheap and bought the cheapest grill cover we could find. They were always made of a thin plastic or vinyl and ended up tearing and ripping and had to be replace every year. There was even a time in a storm that one blew off and disappeared. We have had this cover for over 2 years now and it still looks brand new. It has withstood sun, wind, snow, ice and hail and has no damage to it. It was well worth the extra money to go ahead and buy a better one at the start rather than having to replace one all the time. I recommend this cover.

Update On Jul 31, 2009: We have owned this grill cover for over 3 years now. It covers our grill when it is not in use and stays on the grill outside year round though days that reach 100 dgrees to below zero and it still looks and works perfectly. There are no cracks or tears or fading of the color. I love discounts and bargins as much as anyone but for the few dollars more this one costs over the bargin brand, it was well worth the money.

Update On Feb 27, 2010: This grill cover is now 4 years old and still is in great shape with no holes or cracks. I am very impressed.

You know, if I had a grill, this would be the cover I purchased! Sounds like it does a great job doing what it is supposed to do!

This looks like it was worth the price in durability and looks. I think when you pay a good price for a grill the manufacturer would include one in the package. Having said that, since grills are pricey, it only makes sense to protect them from the elements.
