Be Your Own Hair Stylist
By Ally onI was tired of looking tired.I went and got a haircut and at first I was not too thrilled with it.With a baby you don't get that much time to yourself, if any, to get treats like a haircut or color.I decided that while I still had a few minuets before I had to return to real life I would check out the new beauty store called Ulta that had opened up.I loved this place! It is a girlie girls version of disney land.I quickly realized that they even had a salon in the store.Since I already had the cut I decided to check out the hair dye section because I wanted highlights but I did not want to spend alot on them.My friend had told me she used Loreal Couleur Experte Express when I had admired her highlights.I found the brand and decided on the Darkest Mahogany Brown dye with Cherry Chocolate Mousse highlights. The package included two pairs of gloves and two coloring kits. The first kit is the all over color for your hair. This was simple.Mix one bottle into the other and apply all over until your hair is saturated, wait 45 minuets rinse and dry hair.In kit two you get the mixing pallet for the highlight color, the gloves, and two different types of applicators depending on how thick you want your highlights. This was just taking the desired strands of hair to be highlighted and applying the color. There were diagrams for examples and it was pretty easy. The highlight color does not bleed onto the rest of your hair either so no foil to worry about. After you rinse you can condition with the special conditioner included in the box.At first I hated the color of my hair.It honestly looked Auburn withOrange highlights. After a few washes I like the color, however, It is nothing like the examples on the box.So, easy steps, alot for a little cost, but be careful with color choice as it can be misleading.I will try this product again as I ended up in favor of the color it has ended up to be.

I too use this brand of hair dye. I usually skip the highlights though. I just do the dye & pitch the highlight kit. I haven't been able to find a dye that works as well as the first step in this kit, so I just purchase the 2 step kit and as mentioned just use the dye kit. My favorite. I prefer the auburn color.
