Bear in the Big Blue House, Potty Time with Bear
By mizdiz onI love Bear in the Big Blue House and this is a good video, but don't count on it helping potty train your child.I think the video is very entertaining and has 4 sing alongs.
The problem I have with this DVD is it is titled "Potty Time with Bear" and I expected all 3 episodes to be related to potty training.Wrong!Only one episode is about using the potty.And they use Tutter as the example, the one learning to potty.My kids just could not identify with this.Of course, Bear is a great teacher and talked about the importance of wiping and washing hands.We loved the Toileteers song, how it's better wearing underwear than saggy diapers.
The other two shows on the DVD are good - one is about practicing to be good at something and the other is about all the things that make a day.I just wished the entire DVD would have been devoted to potty training.
I really have a pet peeve about products that don't contain what they advertise they have. This is too bad that it wasn't what you thought you were buying. Hopefully the other videos were something that the children enjoyed. Love the song part of the video about wearing undies...too cute :)
I would have been pretty mad as well if they weren't all about potty training. Although the others may be good, the specific reason you bought this one was for potty training. To be honest I would have returned it for a different dvd.

It sounds like a really cute video. At least you have that song you can sing all the time around the house when it's potty time!
Now this is funny. My son had the VHS verison of this show. I agree with everything you said, although it is a cute video it didn't help him with the potty traning.
Awww... it is too bad that this potty training video does not live up to the expectations of teaching potty training. At least the video is cute and has some helpful advice so it was not a total bomb!
If I buy a video about potty training I want it to be about potty training, not other things. This is common with many of the videos featuring these types of characters though. Same thing happen to me with a Cat In The Hat video I bought. The first episode was about what the title suggested and the rest was cute but unrelated to the subject.
Huh, just goes to show everyone has thier own opinion. My son LOVED this video and I credit it with getting him interested in potty training.
That is quite a deceiving title if only one episode on the DVD is actually about Potty Time. Sorry your little ones couldn't identify with the video very well. Bear is quite sweet and I enjoy him and I'm surprised that this DVD of his isn't quite up to par.
What a shame! I would have thought that all three episodes would have revolved around potty training too. Thanks for the heads up!
