Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite animated Disney films. I bought this on VHS years ago and love it so much that I had to buy it on DVD when it came out. The story is cute and good family viewing, and there are tons of catchy songs that keep the viewer engaged. One of the extra feautures on the disk is an additional song. It is not a half finished deleted scene, but a fully animated and fun song, which is enjoyable to watch and an added gem on the DVD.

Although this is safe for kids, there are some scenes that might be a little frightening. In particular, I am thinking of when all the townspeople show up with burning torches and sing a song about "Kill[ing] the Beast". If I were watching this with a child, I would be a bit leery of that scene, and at least explain it afterwards.

This is a WONDERFUL movie that doesn't seem to age at all - it is just as entertaining to me now as it is when I frst saw it years ago.
