Before I Get Old A Biography About The Who By Ntmanning on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Before I Get Old is taken from the lyrics of The Who's musical anthem, My Generation, the first hugely succesful hit that made a statement in the 1960's. Author Dave Marsh recounts the band from their beginnings as children to getting their first instruments, and evolving from the Detours to the High Numbers and eventually The Who. The book weighs in at 546 pages with 3 sections of photographs littered throughout the book, including a picture of a nude Keith Moon. The group formed on of the most sucessful rock groups in history with the bassist of the millenium, as named by Guitar Magazine, John Entwistle and a drummer only rivaled by Led Zeppelin's John Bonham, Keith Moon. Talented songwriter Pete Townsend has a way of taking rock to another level, and the screams from singer Roger Daltrey echo through the minds of anybody who has heard Won't Get Fooled Again. This book covers everything from the births during the bombing of the Germans, to hand creating first instruments, the forming of the group, the manager troubles, the tension that always existed and the death of Keith Moon. While this book was written in 1983, it still compiles the information on The Who during their prime.
