Bento Box By Tina Lehman on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I started cycling several years ago, and found that having a Bento Box attached to my road bike was a necessity. Cycling clothes do not generally have many pockets, so having the small things I need to access on a long ride is important.
A Bento Box is a small box (5.5" x 3.25" x 1.5") made of nylon that attaches to the top tube of your bike, right behind your handlbars. It is attached with velcro so is easy to remove if need be.
It is roomy enough to put your keys, cell phone, money, power gels or bars, band-aids, lip balm, and the ever-important ibuprofen. It has a mesh top, so you can see inside without removing the top (nice when you are receiving a phone call and you don't want to take out your phone to see who it is). The sides are soft so they do expand to fit what you need, but they are reinforced it doesn't collapse.
I would highly recommend a bento box for anyone who loves to cycle.

What a great idea. I have never seen one of these before but it sure makes sense. Thanks
Wow, I actually haven't seen these before. I guess this will have to go on my wish list. Thanks for the info.
That would make a terrific gift for those who love to bike ride. Great tip about the cellphone too. That would be very handy!
This is the perfect size for your necessities-I like the mesh netting so you can see what's in it!
Nifty box! Sounds like the perfect accessory for a cycler. I appreciate the info!
This sounds like something my husband would get a lot of use out of, maybe I'll get it for him for father's day!
Wow when I think of bento boxes I think of food, who knew they made these for cycling.
What a great idea! So much nicer than having to wear a backpack for all your stuff.
I wonder if you can get these in stores, like at a Target/walmart. It sounds like something my husband can use when him and my son go biking. He hates carrying things around in his pockets.
