i know it's only a comic, but this is probably my single favorite piece of literature. there are currently 293 chapters released (as of writingthis). thats over 30 books. the author has been drawing it for years, and it shows.
it wasn't until looking back that i noticed the way he drew had changed a bit since earlier on in the story. the artist is really good. some of the best uses of 2 page spreads i've seen. most of the time i was way too pulled into the story to think about it, but each page must have taken a really long time. alot of detail.
the story is a midevil type theme, with evil creatures, and war. the character development is some of the best i've read. you pretty much get to see everything about the main character's life, and why he's the person he is.
a must read.

I personally have not read any of the manga from berserk but I have watched it in Japanese audio with English subtitles as well as in English audio it was awesome. Bu tit could have ended better I think...But still a awesome anime to see...
