Best Meeting Management Book By BillF on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I have taught classes on Meeting Management and researched numerous sources and found How to Make Meetings Work my favorite coverage on this subject. Doyle & Strauss cover a meeting purpose, ground rules, types of meetings, agenda, roles, including like leader, scribe, and facilitator. It covers the planning, conduct, and closure phases of a meeting. It also covers and concept I have not seen covered by any other authors what the authors call the " two headed monster" of the leader also trying to be meeting facilitator and the conflict between the decisions and the meeting process. It is a easy to read book with common sense concepts and approaches and does a real good job of covering vast majority of the topic. It suggest starting on time and ending on time or early with the purpose to be a efficent and effective meeting by involving the partisipants in active roles and by clearly planning, facilitaing, and prioritizing.

This sounds really good. I think I'll try to look for this. I"ve currently managed to get out of leadership roles in my clubs, but who knows!
