Beyond the Shadows by Robin Lee Hatcher is a thought provoking book about a family dealing with Alcoholism. The husband/father in the family drinks heavily and repeatedly promises his wife that he will stop. He always goes back to drinking. The story is written mainly from the wifes perspective. We feel what she goes thru on a daily basis. This story is pretty heavy, not one of those light-hearted reads. The book also follows a path of faith and how faith helps the wife and ultimately the husband choose another way.

If you are dealing, or know of an alcoholic then I would highly recommend this story. Although, this story is for everyone of us because we can be a support to those around us going thru tough times. I liked how you got to know the characters in the book. I also felt that the length of the book was perfect. Not too short, and not too long. Although, I felt that some parts of the book were very sad and hard to read. I would recommend this book.
