Biblical Spirituality Of The Heart By Mary on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This book can be purchased at Alba House in New York City at the Society of St. Paul for 14.95. The author was born in Holland in 1923. Jan G. Bovenmars received a Doctorate in Theology in Rome in 1952 and has taught many years in the Philippines and New Guinea. This book deals with the human heart. The word "heart" is mentioned many times in the Old and New testaments of the Bible. The heart is more than a bodily organ. It gives spiritual life to each of us. God has a heart and so does Jesus. There are references to a humble heart, a heart of stone, a heart of flesh, a renewal of our heart, a conversion of heart and hearts purified by faith just to name a few. God tests our hearts and God judges our hearts and yes, God can move the heart. Focusing on all phases of a living heart makes this book so worthwhile reading. I received great insight when I read this book. I thought about things concerning the heart that I hardly gave any thought to before. I would heartily recommend this book to anyone who wishes to learn more about the spirituality of the human heart.
