Bic Luminere... By Chenault on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I enjoy burning candles around my home, but I get really annoyed with using matches and standard lighters to light the candles... I usually end up burning my fingers.

While browsing at Ollie's Bargain Outlet I saw Bic Luminere candle lighters for around three dollars each. I bought one hoping I would not burn my fingers again anytime soon. This canlde lighter is long, the lighter part is designed to light at several angles.

The candle lighter is child proof, and I am not embarrassed to admit several times I had issues lighting it, it must be semi adult proof also :) I was pleased with the fact that I could light candles that are normally hard to light with the Bic Luminere lighter.

However, I am disappointed by this lighter. For three dollars, I expected to get at least a months usage out of this lighter. To my dismay, within one week of purchasing the Bic Luminere lighter it had ran out of fluid. Seriously, I used it maybe fifteen times before it was empty.

Chances are, next time I am looking for a candle lighter, I won't consider the Bic Luminere lighter. It just isn't worth the price when you consider how quickly it runs out of lighter fluid.

Sounds like Bic needs to stick to cigarette lighters. Thanks for the tip.
