Big Tank
By msculit onMy old 120GB portable hard drive crashed while my important electronic files and documents were still there. I was unable to back-up those files thinking that hard disk was not prone to crashes. Now I learned my lesson well and the hard way too.
I purchased this Maxtor One Touch 4 External Hard Drive last year as a Christmas gift to myself since I need to rebuild the files I have lost in my old portable hard drive. I know most of those files will never, ever be recovered again but at least some of them are burned in my DVDs so I can always retrieve them.
This hard drive is a massive one in terms of capacity. I call it my big tank because it is 500 GB! I know, right now the market have released the new 1 Terra byte which is probably twice as much or even more because in layman's term, I don't know how big this Terra byte is.
Apart from the massive storage capacity of this hard drive, its features include:
White led light for power indication
Back-up option
Schedule automated back-up
Easy installation - no CD required
User friendly/easy to use interface by simply clicking on the Maxtor icon for menu choices
5-yr limited warranty
Specifications and PC requirements are:
USB 2.0 and 1.1
Pentium III, 500 Mhz processor equivalent or higher
Windows Vista
256 MB RAM or more as requried by operating system
Internet connection for software updates
Also compatible with Mac.
The only problem I face with this hard drive is that it is not portable. I can be moved from one place to the other but it is very cumbersome due to its size of 6.75" h x 2.5' w x 6.0" l.
Nevertheless, its features overshadow the only problem I have with the drive. I definitely recommend this big tank for your personal or business file storage needs.
