I bought this vacuum for my laminate floors. 90% of my home is laminate and I wanted a lightweight vacuum for fast clean ups. This does an excellant job on my floors. We have 3 dogs so we have a lot of dog hair to vacuum and this picks it up easily. I thought I would use this for ocassional quick cleaning, but I have found it just as good at cleanup, if not better than my big vacuum. I can get under the sofa's where my big vacuum cannot. I also like the hand vac feature on this vacuum. the handle for sweeping easily detaches and it becomes a corded hand vac. I have had cordless hand vac's in the past where the power died after only a few minutes use. With this having the cord you can use it as long as you need it. You can also leave the vacuum handle on it and use the hand vac that way if you would like. I use it to reach spider webs. There is also a crevice tool that can be used with the vacuum or the hand vac. The only small complaint is that the dust cup is a little small and you want to make sure to open it over a trash can or you will probably be spilling some of the contents on the floor. But the pro's far outweight the con. I would highly recommend this vacuum.
