Bissell QuickSteamer PowerBrush: Compact Durable
By lynlyn onIf you have children or pets, at some point a steam cleaner becomes a must-have.When that time comes, this is the one you want.It may actually be THE perfect household steam cleaner, if there is such a thing. Here's why:
First of all, it's compact.I live in a small apartment and can fit this in the hall closet with my vacuum cleaner. It won't take up space you don't have.
It's durable. The first Bissell QuickSteamer I bought lasted until I stupidly tried to suck up standing water with it and killed the motor. It lasted through a lot of hard use and wasn't anywhere near slowing down. The second one I bought has long outlasted my dirt devil vacuum. It has suffered long hours, misuse, and even poor maintenance and is still going strong. You'll probably take better care of yours.
The price is right.I bought this one on eBay for $70 including the shipping. You can't beat that.
It holds a lot of water for the small size.I'm not saying you won't have to refill it several times to clean a dirty living room carpet, but considering that it fits so neatly in the closet, it holds more water than you'd expect.
It works. The Bissell Quicksteamer is not as powerful as those guys who come to your house with the big truck, but it works. It will make your carpet look and smell much cleaner. If you have pets, this steam cleaner will pull up all the pet hair your vacuum doesn't get and leave it in easy to gather piles. If you have a pet that does nastier things than shed on your carpet, this steam cleaner will make your home tolerable again. It is easy to set up, use, and maneuver so that steam cleaning your carpet isn't too much bigger a deal than vacuuming it.It's awesome for spot clean-up because it's so fast to set up and get going. If you have kids or clumsy drunk people spilling things on your carpet, this will suck up the offending mess before it can cause a stain.
I hate cleaning, but I love this steam cleaner. Unless you'd rather have a big, heavy industrial strength cleaner that you'll dread using (well, that I would dread using), you can't do any better than the Bissell QuickSteamer PowerBrush.

You can also find these at discounted prices at Amazon.com. If you can snag a factory reconditioned one, you may end up only paying half price:)
