Bissell Spot Bot By katwalker on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The SpotBot is that "hands-free" carpet cleaning machine. You set it down, push the button, and it does its thing. In that sense, it is easier than other small carpet cleaning machines I've owned. You can also use the vacuum part manually, without the cleaning cycle.

So far, I've used the Spot Bot only one time (rather, about ten times on one occassion). I was trying to clean a larger pet stain area. It was certainly quicker and a lot less exhausting than scrubbing the carpet myself. I'm not sure it did a better job getting out the pet urine stain than if I had worked on it manually. However, old pet urine stains are notriously difficult to get out. The machine used solution rather quickly - the sample bottle of Bissell Little Green Formula only lasted about five cycles. Also, the manual hose does not particularly suck up a lot of moisture; the auto cycle actually does a better job drying carpet.

All in all, I guess the machine is worth it as long as you're not expecting professional results or some sort of miracle.
